About me
Graciela Avila is the Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator for Region One Education Service Center in Edinburg, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas and her master's degree in Bilingual Education from Houston Baptist University in Houston, TX. She was a kindergarten teacher for 20 years, and for the past 11 years, has worked at Region One. She firmly believes that parent and family engagement is extremely important to the academic success of students. Her favorite part of her job is working with district staff and providing technical assistance around PFE and how they can empower their families.
